The publisher is not interested in the best company - they sold the rights to the biggest ad and everything else they could sell in the phone book. Biggest ad, first ad, top of section, if the publisher can sell something they will. It is very difficult to compete for that top slot.

Publishers do not care about quality, experience, reliability or anything you as a bride would care about. Publishers care about profitability and they should, because that is their business model. Quite often the biggest, most attractive ads are from the newest Dj's and services because they need the exposure. This can be very detrimental to your decision making process and make confuse the results of your research.

Honestly, more that half the calls we used to get from the Yellow Book were brides and grooms looking to compare pricing. And, although there is absolutely nothing wrong with attempting to get the best value out of your ad, a bride and groom are doing themselves a large disservice by attempting to only choose their wedding dj based on price.

Look at a Dj's background, referrals and most importantly talk to your potential Dj at a sit down meeting before making a final decision.Please take into account all the important factors when choosing the entertainment for the eventing. Remember, your Dj will be with you for 5-6 hours over the course of the night.
